More Practice Cakes

Tried some more cakes, and some more design techniques. I love to experiment with flavors and different decoration ideas I haven't tried before. This week, I am actually working on a "Good Luck" cake. One of the culinary Cast Members that works for us got a new job. So, I've been asked to make her good-bye cake. Cannot wait. I'm thinking one cake will be chocolate with peanut butter filling. The 2nd cake will be sour cream pound cake with a raspberry cream filling. Wahoooo!

However, aside from this week's escapades....last couple of weeks I've practiced flavors and design. Enjoy the pictures!

This cake is a chocolate cake, with chocolate mousse filling and a chocolate buttercream frosting. The flowers were made with a Royal Icing flavored with a hint of raspberry/vanilla extract.

This cake was a vanilla cake with a strawberry mousee filling and a white chocolate buttercream frosting. The white decoration was made with pina colada buttercream.

This cake is a lemon cake with a lemon curd filling. To tone down that tartness, I covered it in a White Chocolate/Strawberry ganache. The daisies are done with fondant.
